The first T20 international between India and New Zealand was abandoned because of rain and the second T20 took place last evening in Bay Oval. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first. Indian batsmen have been sensational with the bat and the team scored 191 for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav (111 not out), Ishan Kishan (36) are the top scorers for the side. Suryakumar Yadav has been outstanding and he scored 111 in just 51 balls. Tim Southee (3/34), Lockie Ferguson (2/49) and Ish Sodhi (1/35) bagged the wickets among the New Zealand bowlers.
Chasing a huge target, New Zealand fell flat and scored 126 by losing all the wickets in 18.5 overs. The batsmen never dominated in their innings and the match sounded one-sided always. Kane Williamson (61), Devon Conway (25) and Glenn Phillips (12) are the top scorers for the side. Deepak Hooda (4/10), Mohammed Siraj (2/24) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2/26) took the wickets among the Indian bowlers. Suryakumar Yadav is named as the Player of the Match. The third and the final T20 match between India and New Zealand will take place tomorrow. India will then play three ODIs with New Zealand.
